Drawing review before RFIs exist versus risk ranking on project records after work is logged
Autodesk Construction IQ is the machine learning risk layer inside Autodesk Build, now called Forma Build. It ranks issues, RFIs, quality, and safety records that a team has already logged. Helonic reviews the issued 2D PDF drawings and flags coordination and code problems before anyone writes an RFI.
Construction IQ reads what the team enters in Issues, RFIs, and Forms. The Design Risk Factors card ranks logged design issues tied to code compliance, critical building components, and errors and omissions. The RFI Risk Factors card sorts RFIs by root cause, discipline, and building component. The quality and safety cards flag issues that point to rework, water, or fall risk. Autodesk says the analysis runs on project data automatically, and its help docs note that it will not catch every high-risk issue.
Construction IQ can only rank a problem after someone has written it down. Helonic reads every sheet of the issued set, marks each finding at its sheet coordinates with a category and a severity, and a reviewer decides what goes forward. The Autodesk integration can push the issues Helonic finds into Autodesk Forma as RFIs, which puts them in the same records Construction IQ reads.
In March 2026 Autodesk moved Autodesk Construction Cloud under the Forma brand, and Autodesk Build became Forma Build. Construction IQ kept its name and still appears on Project Home and Insight dashboards. Autodesk Assistant is a separate chat layer with its own comparison page.
Construction IQ ranks the records a team has logged. Helonic reads the drawings those records come from.

Milind is the co-founder and CEO of Helonic, where he leads product and go-to-market for AI-powered construction drawing analysis. He works closely with general contractors, project managers, estimators, and owners to understand how drawing quality drives project outcomes - and where AI can reduce RFIs, change orders, and rework. Milind has interviewed hundreds of construction professionals across project delivery roles, from preconstruction estimators at ENR top-400 contractors to facilities directors at institutional owners, and uses those conversations to shape both product direction and the way Helonic talks about the work.
How this page was researched: Comparison based on Autodesk's Construction IQ product page, its Construction IQ help documentation, Autodesk Digital Builder posts on Design and RFI Risk Factors, the March 2026 Forma rename notice, and Helonic's shipped Autodesk drawing pull and RFI push. Distinct from Helonic vs Autodesk Build and Helonic vs Autodesk Assistant.
